Hello & welcome to my small website on D-Models!

My name is Jhonna Von. I'm 26 years old and I live in Cebu City, Philippines. I am working in a Non-Profit Organization which aim is to help the poorest of the poor in this city, especially those literally living in the slums and dumpsites by providing their kids free education through our preschool program and feeding and a lot more. I am a product of this organization. They sponsored my college education and as a sign of gratitude, I'll be working for them for more years. I graduated in 2014 in Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and passed the licensure examination as Registered Pharmacist in January 2015.

I lost both my legs in a motorbike accident on January the 16th 2003. The motorbike that we were riding on and a delivery van got clashed in the middle of the road and because of the severe impact my right leg was cut off and left on the pavement while my left leg was just dangling and was being amputated in the hospital. I recovered pretty fast so I didn't stay long in the hospital.

What happened on that day changed my perspectives, my whole life. I almost died. My family, especially my mother, didn't accept it at first but then I was brave enough to tell her that it was fine, that it's only my legs that were gone and that I still have hands and a mind to use to continue living this life.

I started using prosthetic legs after 2 years of being in a wheelchair which was sponsored by the government. I continued and finished my secondary level, and proceeded to University. I used a walker when I got my first prostheses, I used it the first 3 months, but then it became my burden to bring a lot with me to school, so I decided to practice walking on my own. At first, it was tough, since my prostheses were not that good. My stumps got blisters and wounded, until I met a Singaporean missionary, which sponsored the prosthetic legs that I'm using right now. For all of these blessings, I acknowledge and thank the Lord God, I know deep in my heart that it's all his plans and I give all the glory due to his name.

I was and still am very active in doing all the things that I want and love to do. I love to help other people in any possible ways. I also love to sing and playing the guitar. A few months ago I saw the D-Models website and I really liked it. It didn't take much time before I was convinced that I wanted to be on it as a model as well. I asked a friend if he could take my pictures and after he said yes we started right away!

I hope you will like the first few photos of me on this website. If you have questions and suggestions, please email me. I would love to read it!
